Designing an app that utilizes Machine Learning AI, Generative AI and Augmented Reality to translate between cats and humans.
While cats vocalize to communicate with humans, it is a challenge for humans to fully comprehend what they want to express. In addition, people often underestimate the importance of understanding a cat's personality and needs, especially when initially adopting them from a shelter.
To design an app that utilizes Machine Learning, Sound Recognition and Augmented Reality to act as a cat translator, so people can understand communication signs from cats.
People ages 20 to 60 of all genders who either already own or are looking to adopt a cat.
We found that most of the already existing cat translation apps don’t really translate. Instead, they reproduce cat sounds for entertainment purposes or generate “translations” randomly.
The few that actually do it don’t explain the means of translation and have very low accuracy rates. In addition, illustrations representing attitudes are inconsistent and make it confusing to understand what they represent.
After interviewing several cat owners, the main factors that we found in common were the following:
We developed some personas representing our target audience, to understand their behaviors, needs and pain points.
